Rebranding Project: Solely Therapeutic Massage (formerly Cresent Heights Massage)

The Client

Due to a change in location, massage therapist and business owner Kelley Henry was looking to rename and rebrand her company. She had originally launched her massage therapy business in the Crescent Heights area, but her business had grown and she had relocated to downtown St. Petersburg.

With her downtown location flourishing, Kelley was now looking forward to opening a second location in conjunction with St. Pete Salt Works, also convenient to downtown St. Pete. It seemed like the perfect time to rebrand!

The Process

Kelley came up with the name Solely Therapeutic and hired Laura’s Design Studio to design a new logo and marketing materials. First, we started with the inspiration for the new logo design. Once that was finalized, we incorporated the new look into new marketing materials that showcased Kelly’s business, it’s unique services, and it’s two locations.

The Inspiration

In addition to a brighter, fresher look, Kelley wanted to include elements that evoked the Florida lifestyle that she loves. She also wanted to include details that were specific to the Downtown St. Pete community and that gave a feeling of health and wellness. Using a photo as inspiration (see below), we created a logo that included the sun, healing hands, the calming ocean and an octagon shape (a shape that is well-known along the streets of St. Petersburg). We also used a calming light blue color with a complimentary dark blue and a striking peachy-orange color for the sun. Together, they convey both the calming and relaxing feeling of relief along with the warm healing properties of the therapeutic massage.

The Final Product

While working on the layout for the business cards and rack cards, we experimented with the octagon shape and discovered that we loved how the octagons looked connected, depicting the new brand colors and the various types of services Kelley offers. This brand element became the signature look for Solely Therapeutic Massage and is now being used across all branded elements including signage, social media graphics and ads.
