Graphic Design Mistake #3 – Not knowing what fonts your business uses
This is 3 of 10 graphic design mistakes business owners make and how to fix them.
Why it’s bad: Your fonts are a part of your brand and they should be consistent throughout all of your marketing materials. Think of Bright House Networks, wouldn’t it look weird if suddenly they stopped using their san serif font, Franklin Gothic and started using a script font? The fonts that you use give your design its personality so it’s important to be consistent with the use of your fonts for your brand.
How to fix it: When it comes to brand, consistency leads to credibility. Make sure you know which fonts are a part of your logo and brand guide. Also, avoid using more than 2 different types of fonts with different weights. If you are not sure what this all means, contact your graphic designer. If you don’t have one, contact a reputable designer with experience in brand design.

Good example of how Bright House Networks uses the same font for their branding.
